What is film study?
Film study is the process of breaking down your game into specific parts with the objective of highlighting and improving your skills & strategies. Film study can also be used to analyze your opponents for the same strengths and weaknesses so that you can begin to break down how you can play against them in rematches or simply to highlight holes in your future opponents offense & defense. This course will provide you with all of the tools you need to improve your game mentally and physically on the court so that you and your teammates can become greater players.
You will be able to:

✅ Develop an awareness for team members abilities & inabilities
✅ Anticipate your opponent's moves & create a plan to counter them effectively

About me:
My name is Sharia Marcus-Carter
And I’ve been involved on and off the basketball court for most my life. My first notable success came from Baldwin High School where I became a three-time team captain and MVP, eventually leading the school team to their first league title in 30 years.
After high school I began to move towards a supportive role on the court by becoming an assistant coach at The College at Old Westbury [NY], there I assumed responsibilities for scouting and recruiting and academic advising and creating an overall defensive direction for the program leading to the recruitment of a Skyline Conference Player of the Year & Rookie of the Year.
Soon after I returned to my home state of New York from Clinton Junior College (South Carolina) where I was the top assistant and study hall coordinator for the women’s basketball team, during which I was able to help guide the team towards a school record for most wins (17) in a single season while also appearing in the conference semifinals.
On top of all the above, I also hold a master’s degree in Sports Management & a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Studies from Southern New Hampshire University.
